Beautiful position, excellent restaurant serving first class food, reception and bed rooms rather tired
The food was excellent and the hotel had a very laid-back attitude but remained efficient
The tv in the room was far too small
Attractive locaction and good centre for trips and walks around the English/Welsh border. Hotel restaurant food and service very good.
Hotel dinner menu didn't change all the time we were there. Mobile reception poor. Room somewhat dated and not very clean - duvet was thrown back but undersheet not straightened. Bath not cleaned daily and the wooden blinds were very dusty
Situated in a really pretty area, really close to main walks of the area tea and coffee making facilities a nice touch. Good price.
no staff on reception then grumpy staff with dirty shirt rude to us when he got there, answered the phone mid way through serving us and was sarcastic to us throughout stay. hotel smells really musty, bit like an old peoples home and although the room was clean there were lots of stains on things and a dead spider on pillow!
The view from the room was nice. The restaurant always had people there. Good duck at the restaurant.
Breakfast was pretty expensive. The bed was really springy and soft
very under staffed at breakfast time. Badly organised and in need of a refurbishment.
Set in a lovely location.
We stayed at a reduced rate and to be honest for that price it was fine, had I paid the full price I would have been less pleased.
location was excellent although access by road could be a problem at times due to narrow lanes
lack of choice for dinning both hotel and pub expensive
Had lovely weather for my husbands converlescence. Enjoyed the well kept garden and staff very helpful, carried cases and altered the menu to suit my husbands diet needs.
only one easy chair in the bedroom and the lounge always had the tv on.
At the time of year the peace and quietness of the hotel and surrounding area
Bar area cold
Quiet and excellent evening meal
Great location, great food, great service
Room not great but clean with good views, who can argue at £50
Quiet, lovely view, good food, not disturbed, tv and tea
There is a horrible smell as you go downstairs, it is something like old soap or a tannery, or food going off. The hotel is very formal.
staff was very nice, ready to help, smiling, doing their job very well
prices for food-porcions tiny, prices huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Must say that meals were very good, but overprice themself
A basic but relaxed hotel with a good restaurant and friendly staff.
There pillows were thin and soft and there were no spares in the wardrobe. Checkout was quite early at 10am on a Sunday (but we weren't rushed).
